We accept new members year-round!

Bexar County 4H Fishing and Shooting Sports welcomes all youth residing in Bexar County age 8 and in third grade through high school graduation. We meet to discuss business once per month and host practices most weekends. Members are encouraged to try each discipline, and the club maintains equipment to facilitate that.

Steps to Membership

 

 1. Enroll in 4H Online. This is the managment system for 4-H enrollment and event registration. The cost is about $30 per child per school year (Septmeber 1-August 31).

During enrollment you will be prompted for a club name and project. Our club is listed as Bexar 4-H Fishing and Shooting Sports and our primary project is Shooting Sports. You may enroll in more than one club. Bexar county extension agent Kevin Knapick can help with any 4-H Online questions.

2. Pay club dues. Our yearly club dues are $10 per child and can be paid at the club meetings. This covers use of club equipment and ammunition when available.

3. Welcome to 4-H! The Newcomer's Handbook provided by the county gives a good overview of the 4-H program.

4. Join us at a monthly meeting or a practice. Be sure to join the Remind.com message stream for practice notifaction.

Do I need my own equipment?

The club has a number of guns/bows available for members to borrow. This is covered by the club.

Can I drop my child off at meetings or practices?

Parents or guardians must stay with their child at practices and assist the coaches with ensuring safety standards are upheld.

Who can join?
We welcome any child, residing in Bexar County, age 8 and in the 3rd grade through High School graduation. Adults are encouraged to join as volunteers!

How much does it cost to join?
 Texas 4-H is $30 per child per school year. Club dues are $10 per child per school year.

How much are practices?
 Range fees vary by discipline. Currently Rifle, Pistol, and Muzzleloading range fees are covered by the generous donation of Alamo Muzzleloading Gun Club. Archery fees are $10-$15 per meeting. Shotgun fees are $7-$30 per practice depending on the number of targets shot.

When are practices?
 Rifle, pistol and muzzleloading practices are held on the first and third Saturdays of the month. Shotgun and archery practices are held on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

What is 4H?
